It is not always easy to recognize truth when engaged in conversation or listening to others. There are times when truth may be stretched to the breaking point. It is at such moments when truth falters, leaving a tangle of uncertainty that ensnares the soul. It is especially troubling when truth is subjugated by leadership and media as the multitude flounders in a sea of doubt. It is doubt that holds captive the person without a grasp on truth. "And you shall know the truth, and the truth will make you free" John 8:22. This spiritual truth is capable of freeing us from political, economic, and personal worries that chain us to our present world. The problem is that the multitude has no understanding of the saving truth. As Christians it is our responsibility to throw out a life line of truth. Controversy continues regarding possession and storage of classified documents. Though curiosity exists pertaining to content of documents, most of us recognize the government's need to safeguard national security by restricting access to classified material. Disagreement is likely to continue as to what information requires classification as secret. The question relevant to us is whether revelation of former government secrets will actually make a difference in our personal and spiritual lives. The government is not alone in keeping secrets. There are secrets held in the hearts of everyone. There are secrets waiting to be revealed at their proper time while others will only be relinquished into the hands of God. Then there are those secrets that some will chain to a dark corner of their heart with the intent of never seeing daylight. The words in Scripture dispute that possibility.
