A Life Worth Living
Advocates of social justice are often quick to offer excuses for those defying laws that maintain the security and safety of our communities. Today we stand by watching as the pillars of society crumble and fall. Years ago while enrolled in a philosophy class I read the writings of men who spent a lifetime asking questions of others concerning truth, justice, free will, morality, the moral law, etc. Pilate asked Christ, "What is truth?" On Mars' Hill at Athens, Paul the Apostle debated with the Epicureans and Stoics about their philosophies. In answer to their questions he presented the truth of the "Unknown God" to whom they had built an altar. Today, men continue to echo those same questions from generations past. I would like to think that many of the world's philosophers honestly searched for something to give meaning to their lives.
